When in writing mode the clip slides into the body of the pen. When you close the pen the clip becomes available to attach to a pocket or bag. A ball valve moves in place over the front end opening to protect the retracted nib from drying out or getting damaged. The Dialog 3's shiny white lacquer barrel is fitted with a 14K bi-color solid gold nib and fills via disposable Lamy Ink cartridges (LT10) or with a converter (LZ26 - included).
